So I’m very excited to finally have my own website to promote my business as a Pilates instructor. I’ve been doing Pilates since I was 15 years old and I am eager to share the many benefits with those who are interested. You may have noticed that I do not have any pictures of a studio on my website, and that is simply because I currently practice at more than one location in and around West Los Angeles. Most of my work is done out of a beautiful studio in Santa Monica, teaching both private sessions as well as group classes. In addition, I work for two different physical therapists teaching Pilates to patients who have advanced from their injuries and would like to strengthen their core. My goal is to one day become a physical therapist myself, although I still have a few more years of schooling ahead of me.
I teach Pilates based on the traditional teachings of Joseph Pilates. I know there are a lot of different studios out there, and several different interpretations of the Pilates method, but I choose to stick to the traditional method developed by Mr. Pilates and keep what I teach as authentic as possible. I was fortunate enough to train with a 2nd generation instructor, which technically makes me a 3rd generation instructor. In case you are wondering, a 2nd generation teacher is one who studied extensively with one or more of the 1st generation teachers, and whose training comes directly from Joseph Pilates. All this to say that a 3rd generation teacher (myself) is one who has trained extensively with a 2nd generation instructor, and who retains the traditional teachings of Joseph Pilates.
I truly believe that there is no better form of Pilates than the traditional method pioneered by Joseph Pilates in 1883, and which has helped millions of people since. Pilates’ original teachings have endured for over a century and I am proud to be able to help people achieve their fitness goals through them. So please take a look around my site and make sure to read more about the fascinating background and history of Joseph Pilates and the Pilates method.
